Teresa has completed her internship with Spring Tree Counseling and taken a position here as Resident Clinical Counselor. She will complete her degree this December in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Trauma Concentration from Moody Theological Seminary. She previously received her B.A. in Pre-Counseling/Human Services at Moody Bible Institute. Teresa has a cross-cultural background and has lived in various countries such as India, Korea, and the Philippines. She has a heart for working with people from all cultures and walks of life. Her diverse experiences have shaped her approach to counseling as she believes every person has a unique story to tell, a story of joy and suffering and of life’s highs and lows. She believes that everyone deserves to have their stories heard, their pain seen, their experiences validated, and their growth celebrated. Working from a client-centered, narrative approach, Teresa offers unconditional positive regard to her clients, empowering them as they unpack and reframe their life stories to bring deeper meaning to it. She finds joy in helping clients discover their own strengths and resilience to keep moving forward despite life’s challenges. Teresa works closely under the supervision of Travis Booth, MA, LCPC, in addition to receiving weekly faculty supervision through her program at Moody Theological Seminary.
Counseling is a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for you to show up just as you are, fully yourself. It is a collaborative experience where we get to put together some of the pieces of your life’s puzzle and see a glimpse of the beauty that can be found in the process even amidst chaos and confusion. You are not alone. It is my honor to journey alongside you in your courageous work toward finding meaning, healing, wholeness, and growth.
