Melody Charles-Van Der Werff, MA, LCPC
Clinical Director

A bilingual Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and clinical supervisor, Melody is a graduate of the Family Institute at Northwestern University, having earned a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. Specialized in utilizing integrative treatment approaches, Melody treats men, women and couples and offers clinical specialty in addressing themes of identity and life transitions, eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma recovery, grief, and relational issues within a multi-cultural and relational framework. She is a strong believer in the power of healing and growth in the context of relationship and journeying together, and so has a deep desire to assist women and men in experiencing transformation and increased quality of life through the work and strength of the counseling relationship. In addition to counseling, Melody enjoys and highly values teaching workshops and providing clinical supervision and consultation.

I deeply value the multi-faceted nature of working with diverse populations and utilizing a variety of therapeutic frameworks with both individuals and couples.  Our life experiences and roles in both our culture and contexts have the potential to create unique stressors and conflicts, as well as opportunities for growth, transformation and increased fulfillment.  I also care deeply about the healing and growth that is made possible for both men and women through a supportive therapeutic relationship.
