Claire completed her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Moody Theological Seminary. Claire believes in the connection between mental health and overall wellbeing. She utilizes trauma-informed talk therapy, self compassion techniques, and inner child work. She brings in the connection between the body, mind, and emotions when welcomed and appropriate. Integrating internal family systems, attachment theory, self-compassion, and body oriented therapy, Claire meets clients where they are and creates a safe space for them to process confusing or traumatic life events and unhelpful thoughts and patterns. Believing that we are wired to heal, she helps her clients do just that and envision their lives infused with meaning, purpose, and joy.
Before mental health counseling, Claire’s background was teaching and caring for children. Children are drawn to her as she can see the best in them and reflect to them unconditional positive regard. She is passionate about helping them and their families grow in health and hope through counseling, play therapy, and self compassion.
In working with you, I desire to see who you are and reflect back the beauty and goodness I see. I love to work backwards in order to move forward, getting an overview of childhood and personal history from which presenting problems may stem. It is my joy to support you in your healing. I get to hold a safe space, to really listen, and to believe in your bright future when it may be hard to believe in it for yourself.
