Stephanie Booth is a clinical graduate intern pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. Stephanie holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Higher Education from Taylor University. After over a decade spent working in a residence life capacity and then in pastoral ministry, Stephanie made the transition to counseling after experiencing firsthand the need for spaces where people can be seen and valued for who they are at the deepest level, and met with the care and consistency that fosters wholeness.
She weaves together a mixture of psychodynamic, narrative and attachment theory within a person-centered ideology.; She is committed to developing a counselor/client relationship that will serve as a foundation of healing and personal growth. Stephanie believes that the best inner work is done when we are patient and honest with ourselves and our grief, pain and trauma. Because of this, she practices from a framework of self-compassion and parts work, incorporating Internal Family Systems theory and somatic work in a trauma sensitive approach. Stephanie believes that we are all capable of an integrated and connected self and considers it one of the highest joys in life to walk with others as they pursue healing for themselves.
Stephanie works under the supervision of Melody Charles-Van Der Werff MA, LCPC in in addition to weekly faculty supervision from her program at Trinity International University.
“It is my desire to help each client nurture the person deep inside and provide enough safety that the true self can come out to play, free from fear and other bondages, and express the unique and beautiful person inside. There are hindrances that prevent our flourishing, many related to trauma that must be worked through in order to get to where wholeness and goodness can thrive. Counseling provides the space to tear back all of the layers and let the person be who they were meant to be in freedom and fullness.”
