Hannah Hinerman, Graduate Clinical Intern

Hannah Hinerman is a graduate clinical intern currently pursuing her Masters in Pastoral Counseling at Loyola University Chicago. Previously, she received her Bachelors in Dance and Psychology from the same university. Hannah values her prior professional and educational experience working with people from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds, as well as with a wide age range from children to adults. Hannah uses an integrative approach that caters to the needs of her clients, and her dance background highlights her bodily awareness, which Hannah uses to help clients connect with and regulate their emotions. Hannah works under the careful supervision of Deanna Roberts, MA, LCPC, BC-DMT and receives weekly peer and faculty supervision through Loyola University.

“Look inside of me and see that I am not afraid, to walk inside the void like a kid inside a cave” is the opening line of one of my favorite songs that speaks to my approach to therapy. I am not afraid of the heavy and painful parts of our stories, and I am known for asking questions that get at the ‘gritty’ reality of the heart–what someone really feels, the thing someone feels like they can’t say. The same people who have told me that I have challenged them, have also said that I never pressured them. I enter into my client’s story with curiosity and with reverent awe over their trust, vulnerability, and meaningfully unique lives.
