Tyler Biggs is a clinical graduate intern pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. Tyler holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Indiana State University. After years of working in leadership development with college students, Tyler moved into the counseling world with a hope to aid others in their healing journey.
Tyler brings a decade of teaching and mentoring experiences to his work as a counselor. He has helped many struggling with major life decisions—where to move, what career to choose, how to deal with relationships, and so much more. He hopes to provide a safe space to navigate decisions such as this as well as a warm presence to explore the difficulties of life together.
Tyler’s work with clients is crafted to specifically fit each individual he sees. He sees each encounter with a client like untangling a ball of yarn. One can’t knit a scarf if the yarn is tangled. Similarly, a tangled life can feel confusing, painful, and even purposeless. In his approach, Tyler supports clients in untangling the problems in their lives. When one’s pieces are ordered and unknotted, it provides relief and clarity about who we are. Through compassionate questioning, insightful discussion, and some simple tools, Tyler comes alongside clients to pull on strings together, trying to sort out what is tangled.
Tyler works closely under the supervision of Travis Booth MA, LCPC in addition to weekly faculty supervision from his program at Trinity Internation University.
Life can be so hard and healing from its wounds takes effort. Finding healing alone is nearly impossible. My hope is to be a safe person to share these pains with, working together to knit up the wounds and grow resilience. Through help, it is possible that we not only can survive life but thrive in it.
