Bethany Elston, MA, LCSW

Bethany is a licensed clinical social worker and a graduate of the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration.  Her experience includes working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to address issues such as depression, anxiety, relational conflict, trauma, and addictions recovery.  Bethany has a specialty in working with clients who are living with chronic illness and chronic pain and enjoys walking with clients through healing that addresses complex concerns.  Bethany utilizes concepts informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness-based modalities in the therapeutic work. Bethany also offers consultation and supervision for social workers working towards licensure and has worked as a field educator and adjunct lecturer at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.

My hope is to help clients explore identity and values and develop tools for personal growth resulting in a greater sense of freedom, richness in life, and joy in the workplace, school, or home. I seek to provide a safe environment where change happens as we access and discover the strengths and gifts that each client brings on their journey towards wholeness.  No matter how complex the issues we face are, there are ways in which therapy can help us to find creative solutions, face our fears, deepen our circles of support, and create patterns by which we can find peace in our emotional lives.
