As a clinical intern, Angela is pursuing a M.A. degree in the Mental Health Counseling program at Trinity International University. Angela received a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology through Providence University College, and holds a Masters in International Health through Curtin University. Angela has previous experience working as a caseworker for an agency providing mentorship for children and youth facing adverse life situations. Originally from Canada, Angela was raised in Southeast Asia, and has worked in a variety of cross-cultural settings. Angela is familiar with both the beauty and difficulty of transition, as well as navigating the integration of a cultural identity. By using a relational approach and evidence-based practices, she desires to journey alongside individuals and couples in addressing anxiety, depression, relational distress, life transitions, as well as grief and loss. Angela works closely under the supervision of Melody Charles-Van Der Werff, MA, LCPC, as well as receives weekly faculty supervision through Trinity International University.
Each person has a unique story to share, and it would be a privilege to provide a safe space for yours to be heard. I believe counseling offers a collaborative opportunity for lasting change to be made, as emotions, relational patterns, and the factors that are contributing towards a sense of being stuck are explored. My desire is that each client would feel truly seen and heard on their journey towards healing, finding hope and living life to the full.
