Martha Sahyouni, MA, LPC
Martha Sahyouni is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who works with adults from dysfunctional family backgrounds and with childhood trauma and loss to help them make peace with their past and find new ways to relate to themselves and others. She is also passionate about helping teens and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem, as well as working with women and girls contending with eating disorders and food/body image issues. Martha graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a M.A. in community counseling, worked at Spring Tree for eight years and now is back with the practice after taking a sabbatical to concentrate on raising her family.
I believe in the power of healing relationships to bring about change. I strive to forge a healing connection with each of my clients that says - you matter. From there we explore strategies and work on skills that facilitate growth such as cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness practices. My role is to collaborate with each person as they come to understand their unique story and imagine new possibilities for their life and relationships.
